SUBANG: The Ford 24-Hour Challenge finale wraps up in Subang SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre where a powerful Ranger towed a 3500 kg Aero L-39 Albatros jet plane measuring over 600 ft.
The Ford 24-Hour Challenge was held to showcase the “Built Ford Tough” credentials of the Ranger.
Throughout the challenge, the Ranger completed five challenges, with stops in Ipoh, Penang, the Belum Rainforest in Perak, Kelantan, Kuantan and the Klang Valley.
At The Port in Ipoh, the Ranger showcased its towing ability by pulling down a brick wall
The Ranger’s unrivaled 3500 kg towing capacity with the aid of Trailer Sway Control made the task looked effortless as it tackled a one-story high brick wall.
Up north in Penang, the Ranger once again demonstrated its mightiness when the team loaded the Ranger’s bed with heavy loads of drinks to be distributed to the crowd.
After 22 hours on non-stop challenges, the Ranger arrived at Ulu Tamu, Batang Kali where it tackled the rugged terrains filled with narrow potholed roads and crossed deep river waters.
With the Ranger’s sophisticated design, the vehicle’s key components remained untouched as the air intake was protected with its best in-class water-wading of up to 800 mm .
“At Ford, we are always looking at exciting ways to showcase our world-class vehicles,” said Veemala Rethinasamy, sales and marketing director, Ford Malaysia.
“The Ranger offers best-in-class safety features and technology, including a 5-star NCAP crash-test rating.”
