Mercedes Benz Malaysia introduces the refreshed 5th Generation C-Class starting from under RM 260,000

Mercedes Benz Malaysia has official unveiled the refreshed 5th Generation C-Class today. Officially unveiled in Geneva earlier this year, the W205 Mercedes C-Class, which is also the most successful model series, is introduced in two variants, the C200 Avangarde and the C300 AMG Line. The V6 Bi-turbo AMG C43 4Matic was also launched concurrently today.

Exterior changes are subtle, each of the three  variants getting a newly designed more dynamic bumpers, a twin-louvre grill for the C200 while the C300 AMG Line gets the diamond pin grille. The C200 gets a new sophisticated high-performance LED headlamps while the C300 AMG Line and the AMG C43 gets the Multibeam LED headlights with 84 diodes and ultra range high beam.

At the rear, all three variants kept the same shaped taillamp but gets sport a new C-shaped light guides. The bumper is slightly enhanced with each of the three variants getting a different exhaust finishing.

As for the wheels, the C200 Avangarde gets a new 18″ multi-spoke rims, while both the C300 AMG line and AMG C43 gets the 19″ 5 twin spoke AME alloy wheels.

The C200 Avangarde is powered by a new 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 184 hp while the C300 AMG Line gets the 2 liter four cylinder petrol engine that churn out 258 hp. The AMG C43 4MATIC is powered by the V6 3-liter bi-turbo engine producing a maximum of 390 hp. Both the C200 and C300 are equipped with the 9G-Tronics nine-speed transmission while the AMG C43 is equipped with the nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission.

On the interior, all the three variants received a new steering wheel, a 12.3 inch fully digital instrument display that offers three display styles “Classic”, “Sport” or “Progressive” as well as a new high-resolution 10.25 inch media display that can be operated with two touch control buttons on the sporty steering wheel. The touch sensitive control also responds to swiping motions just like the screen of a smartphone, enabling the driver to control the functions of the instrument cluster and entire infotainment system without having to take their hands off the steering wheel.

The new generation C-Class comes with smartphone integration links through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which gives convenient access to the most important applications on your handphone.

The interior varies for the 3 variants, with the C200 getting black or grey Artico leather upholstery with new open-pore grey oak wood trims, the C300 has an option of either black, brown or red interior with black open pore ash wood trim while the AMG C43 gets black interior with red linings and a new AMG matte silver fiberglass trim.

KEYLESS-GO are standard across for all variants which enables access and drive authorization even with the key in your pocket and unlocking and locking of doors can be done simply by touching the door handle. The C200 gets a list of driver-assistance components which include active brake assist, autonomous emergency braking, active parking assist, reverse camera, speedtronic cruise control and blind spot assist while the C300 and C43 gets a 360 surround view camera and Active Lane Keeping Assist. Both the higher variants also get an electronic panoramic sunroof.

The C200 Avangarde carries a price tag of RM 259,888 while the C300 AMG Line is listed for RM 304,888 and the AMG C43 is priced at RM 421,999 on the road (without insurance). Financing options are available for all three variants with monthly payments starting from just RM 2,688 for the C200 Avangarde (based on a three-year tenure with 22% downpayment) and until December 31, all Flex-C financing contracts includes a complimentary first year tire and rims insurance package.
