UMW Toyota have confirmed the prices of the refreshed 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis with three available variants – the base 1.8E, the 1.8G and the top of the line 2.0V. The base model 1.8G is priced at (on the road inclusive of GST and insurance) RM 120,900, while the 1.8G and 2.0V are priced RM 123,900 and RM 138,900 respectively. Bookings are also opened now with cars expected to hit the showrooms in December.
The new refreshed Corolla Altis now sports the brand’s “Keen Look” and “Under Priority” design philosophy which carries a softer front fascia with slimmer headlamp design.
The more aggressive front how sports a newly design bumper with wider radiator grille with vertical slits on the ends and the rear is now highlighted by a chrome trim piece that connects the LED tail lamps.
As for the interior, there is now a new set of dials for the air-conditioning system, a redesigned center stack and center console and some slight changes to the instrument cluster.
The two 1.8 models will come standard with two airbags while the 2.0V will also feature the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and carry the optional “Additional Safety Package” which will increase the airbags to seven.
The 2016 Corolla Altis should still carry over the same 2ZR-FE 1.8 liter engine with 139PS and 173Nm of torque while the 2.0 will run on the 3ZR-FE 2.0 liter engine with 145PS and 187Nm on a CVT transmission.
The 2016 Corolla Altis will come with a five-year unlimited mileage and fully transferable warranty.
This is the 50th year of existence for the Toyota Corolla model with more than 44 million Corollas being sold worldwide since Nov 5, 1966.
