Renowned F1 race track Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and the ministry of finance have declared that Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir has surrendered from his post as administrator, powerful from October 10. The child of previous head administrator Tun Mahathir Mohamad has been holding this position at the circuit’s administration since 2003.
Mokhzani’s successor, Tan Sri Mohamed Azman Yahya, who has been contracted for a time of three years. A champion of the Malaysian Super Series and the Merdeka Millennium Endurance race, and in addition the Driver of the Year grant by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) in 2004, Azman has been a piece of the SIC’s top managerial staff since 2010.
“It is an amazing privilege to be designated to this part and I am satisfied to have the chance to bear on the important work of my ancestors Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir and Allahyarham Tan Sri Basir Ismail, as executive of Sepang International Circuit,” Azman said. “I plan to encourage add to the advancement and development of motorsports in Malaysia, a field near my heart.”
Mokhzani said that it had been a respectful and beneficial to be a part of the SIC group. “I have seen occasions advance from novice races to proficient world class occasions, and I’m pleased to have seen Malaysians adapt to present circumstances to give the universal gifts a battle for their cash. I have seen SIC catalyzing change in Malaysian and territorial motorsports culture, making another culture of demonstrable skill and security,” he said.
