A new oval circuit is set to be built in Malaysia and will be located in Perak. The facility will be a component of T-City, a motorsports-themed integrated township, which is due for completion for the next 10 to 20 years, according to a report by New Strait Times.
Situated approximately 10 km away from the centre of Ipoh, T-City will have a dragstrip and a dirt track besides the oval circuit. Other highlights include a water-themed park and a motorsports country club.
The project, costing RM15.1 billion, developed by Goodland Group and Citrine Capital, will also contain other amenities such as shoplots/commercial offices, automotive galleries as well as hotels, serviced apartments and a land transport terminal.
Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Dr Zambri Abdul Kadir, said the project is endorsed by the Malaysian Economic Council as a feature of the state’s key economic transformation program, will be beneficial for the state’s tourism industry. He included that the primary period of the venture, involving 204 acres of land, is relied upon to be completed in 10 years’ opportunity.
“This improvement will better position Perak to catch development openings and meet the increasing expectations of the tourism industry, and will particularly help our advancement endeavors all around to attract more visitors. This is likewise some portion of our vision to internationalize the state of Perak,” he said.
