Yes, while we’d count our blessings when our boss brings us to a local getaway, these guys get treated to an all-expanses-paid trip to a five-star luxury resort in the Maldives.
Reportedly costing $500,000 in total, Singapore’s Evolve Mixed Martial Arts call the trip a “normal part of the Evolve culture,” its founder and chairman Chatri Sityodtong told Asia One, adding that it is just “a small token of my heartfelt gratitude to all of the phenomenal rockstars at Evolve MMA.”
Sityodtong was quoted saying that on top of the “strong double-digit growth every year,” the company has been registering 30% year-on-year growth throughout 2016, hence the generous reward given to employees. He also commented that this is not the first time employees enjoyed a generous getaway, having done this for the past five years. Evolve employees have enjoyed free luxury trips to Bali, Krabi, Khao Lak, and Bintan.
On this particular trip, the company’s support staff and world champion trainers were joined by members of Evolve’s fight team, which includes ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee.
The serial entrepreneur added that he understands how for many of his employees, enjoying such luxuries may almost be impossible. He believes that by taking them on expensive tours, he is able to fulfil their dreams.
Sityodtong further stated that such an environment has always kept him optimistic about his team’s performance. So far, his generosity seems to be working well in keeping his staff motivated.
“The best deserve the best. It is only fair. We do our best to hire the best people in the world, giving out only one job offer for every 200 applicants. So they should be compensated as such,” he said.
