Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau was reported to have suffered serious injuries during a shoot in Thailand, after falling off a horse during a horse-riding scene.
Apple Daily said the Heavenly King had set off on Monday for Thailand to shoot an ad.
He was said to have fractured his spine in the incident in Khao Lak, three hours by car from Bangkok when the animal went out of control and threw the actor off, then stepped on his waist.
The shoot was stopped immediately, and Lau was sent to a nearby Thai hospital. However, because it is a spinal injury and Lau himself is immobile, he was instead sent back to Hong Kong via medical place for further treatment.
The late American actor and producer Christopher Reeve were rendered quadriplegic after falling off a horse over two decades ago. However, Reeve suffered a much graver injury, having shattered his first and second vertebrae (spine area near the neck), paralysing him from the neck down.
