Miss Grand International (MGI) is one of the world’s leading international beauty pageant and is also one of the 5 Grand Slam Beauty Pageants along side with Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Supranational.
On 21st of September 2016, The Miss Grand International Organization (MGIO) held the coronation party for Miss Grand Malaysia 2016 right here in Kuala Lumpur, which was also graced by the presence of Claire Elizabeth Parker, MGI 2015.
Claire was there also to represent the founder and president of MGIO, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil from Bangkok, Thailand.
“This is my first visit to Kuala Lumpur and I am very happy to be here to witness the crowning of the new Miss Grand Malaysia. On behalf of Miss Grand International Organization, I hope she continues to further promote the advocacy that is dearest to her heart and create an impact to her society,” Claire Elizabeth Parker, Miss Grand International 2015.
The coronation event that was held at Mango’s Tropical Cafe in TREC KL was filled with many Malaysian beauty queens, leading fashion designers and key industry players, to warmly welcome Malaysia’s new darling. On the day of the event, the Malaysia’s representative to MGI 2016 was announced.
Ranmeet Jassal was crowned as the new Miss Grand Malaysia and she will be flying to Las Vegas to compete at MGI 2016 which will be held from 10th till 25th of October. The lovely 24-year-old beauty is a qualified medical doctor graduated from Rajhiv Gandhi University in India.

Most importantly, as I will represent the name of country Malaysia I would like to showcase the essence of being a true Malaysian through friendship and camaraderie. The National Director of Miss Grand Malaysia Organization also took some time to thank the parties that were involved throughout the event.

This is just the beginning for the pageant in Malaysia and we are dedicated to continuing to provide opportunities to deserving Malaysian women. For the first time, the Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 national pageant will take place in July 2017 to select Malaysia’s next representative to the international pageant,” Jude Benjamin, National Director, Miss Grand Malaysia Organization.
Santhawan Boonratana, Miss Grand Malaysia 2015 crowned her successor, Ranmeet Jassel on that day. She represented the country last year at the international pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand and managed to grab two titles, Top10 Miss Popular Vote and Top20 Best National Costume against 75 other competing delegates from around the world.

This year’s Miss Grand Malaysia travel will be supported by Malindo Air and Parlo Tours. When in Las Vegas, Ranmeet Jassal will be wearing the national costume created by Borneo Republic and evening gowns and apparels designed by Cosry, Zamim Zawani, Spoza by Rizky, Whiskey Couture and Limbang Essentials.
