Doctor Selflessly Sacrificed His Last Moment With His Dying Father To Save A Patient’s Life

More often than not, many people fail to realize that doctors are humans with emotions too, they have families like us and they are just as easy to break down and cry when things happen like every single one of us.

A 55-year-old doctor from Anhui, China went through one of the most challenging times in his life when he didn’t manage to see his father for the last time as he had to perform a surgery on a patient.

Zhang Xinzhi went to visit his father before he went to perform the surgery, he told his father that he had a surgery to be done and that he would be back soon as he finished the surgery. He was aware that his father was in a critical condition.

Zhang, who has been a doctor for 33 years said,

“On that day, I felt really grief-stricken and sad that I couldn’t be at my father’s side. I felt so guilty that I couldn’t see him for the last time but I am a doctor and saving my patient’s life is important too.”

Zhang’s story has been widely shared and has become viral among netizens who highly praise him for his professional work ethic and prioritized his patient’s life, but Zhang said that other doctors would do the same too if they were in the same situation.

“Although I regret not seeing him for the last time, I know he’ll understand and support my decision because he knows that I am not only his son, but I have huge responsibilities as a doctor too.”

I’m sure your father is proud of you, Zhang. We hope his soul is resting in peace knowing that his son is such a good doctor. Keep up the good work Zhang, you’re our hero!
