Teen Burglar Wakes Up Couple To Ask For WiFi Access Because He Ran Out Of Data

Burglary and robbery are big NO-NOs! Kids, please do not do anything like this!

Recently, a young burglar broke into a home in Palo Alto, California and woke up a sleeping couple to ask for the WiFi access because he ran out of data.

In the incident that took place last Saturday, July 28, the homeowners, both in their 60s were alarmed by the intruder and chased him out of their residence before calling the cops.

Palo Alto police said in a statement,

“The couple had been asleep in their bedroom when they were awakened by the unknown suspect speaking to them and asking to use their WiFi network.”

According to CNN, the 17-year-old waved to the couple outside their bedroom window signaling he wanted to talk to them.

Police added,

“The suspect asked to use their WiFi network because he was out of data. The residents ordered the suspect to leave, and they watched him ride away on a bicycle. They did not notify the police at the time.

“The woman notified another resident of the home, an adult in his late teens, and together the two of them confronted the suspect inside the side yard.”

The teen reportedly entered the house by slitting a screen covering an open window. While the motives of the burglar remained unclear, police said two knives were missing from the kitchen.

“Officers determined the suspect had climbed into the home after cutting a screen covering an open window in the side yard.”

He was later arrested a block away for residential burglary, prowling, and providing false information to a police officer. The police also believed that he was responsible for a bike theft earlier that night in the same Palo Alto neighbourhood.

Not that we condone burglary, but this teen is seriously bad at it, he might as well live a normal and honest life to stay out of trouble.
