The Coverage Malaysia Wishes All The Women Out There, Happy International Women’s Day!!!

As The Coverage Malaysia celebrates the International Women’s Day today, we took the time to approach some of our female readers and asked them of their personal thoughts on the meaning behind the celebration and how can we, the female population, make the world a better place.

Some were humorous while the others were inspiring! Here’s what they had to say:

“I believe that its an amazing occasion to celebrate women’s international day! Not only that it reunites women from all over the world, but its also a way of spreading the awareness that no matter which part of the world we women are, we still stand together as one.”

“To make the world a better place, i think everyone has to find happiness. Because only when you’re happy, you would want other people to feel the same way you do and in that context, you would eventually do something good, that sincerely comes from the heart.”

– Aliza Sara, blogger at

“It is great to have a day that recognises women’s past struggles and accomplishments. But in my opinion, I think this should be celebrated more often. We need to give a hands up to women for being able to handle a whole family and being an achiever of dreams at the same time. To be able to work more than 9 to 5 and to continue with the home chores and all. I give respect to that.”

” We make the world a better place by making changes to ourselves first. If everyone could make a slight change to themselves for the better. It all starts with respect and honesty… I’m sure it will all fall into place and make the world a better place.”

– Rina Chandra Kumar, growth manager at AVANA.

“I think it’s as good as mothers day but instead of only mothers we celebrate all women.. sisters, cousins, friends.. there are many women that inspired us, guide us, and amazed us. We can show how much they mean to us on this day.”

“It always start from within, like a small pebble thrown into a calm lake. We create a ripple effect. To make the world a better place we have to start with ourselves. Start small, one good deed a day. Help a hungry needy; notice a struggling colleague, offer some help or advice.. Start with people around you, because the world can never change overnight.”

– Anastasia Narcis, Assistant Front Office Manager at Copthorne Orchid Hotel.

“I think Woman International Day is a day to celebrate women contribution to both society and family. A woman plays so many roles in the society and family too. They nurture their children to be successful which build our strong nation and at the same time taking care of her family. Woman nowadays not only have to take care of their family but also have to work a full-time job while juggling between house chores. On this day we shall celebrate for all the hard work and effort we have poured in and be proud of ourselves.”

“We shall not discriminate woman and be stereotyped and think that women are always the weak ones or always the one who depend on their husbands. In fact, in today society more and more woman actually holds a lot of responsible in the whole household expenses and many woman are in top management level in corporate world as well.”

– Cindy Tong, a blogger at

“I am proud to be a woman and well it is a well-known fact that women are tough and awesome.. we never give up and you will always find strength in gentleness.”

“By respecting everyone and everything around us…”

“Even at this modern era, we still hear of women being taken advantage of and not getting the rights they deserve. Hence, it is very important to create that awareness by celebrating Women’s International Day.”

“We can make the world a better place by simply being kinder to one another. If we can all understand and show a simple act of kindness every day, we would already help to make the world a better place.”

– Carmen, a blogger at

“It is a day when women are honoured for their achievements regardless of their backgrounds. It’s a day to reflect on how the women in our lives be it your mum, sisters, work associates or girlfriends have positively impacted our lives in one way or another. On a more personal scale, it’s a day to reflect on how much obstacles myself and my women staff team has gone through over the years to make Supermodels Secrets shine as a business to empower other women out there to be confident and successful. “

“Love your neighbours as yourself. Putting others needs above ours will inevitably make a world a better place. Volunteer whenever you can and you’ll be surprise how these little things can have a great impact on others lives.”
