Who said being a fish vendor is useless? This inspiring story of three brothers may just change your perspective on all vendors.
The three siblings from Kuala Terengganu, Mohd Anuar Arifin, 32, Mohd Al Fatah, 30, and Mohd Sufian, 23, have always had a dream of starting their own business, and so, they started building their capital by saving every single cent they could get a hold of.
Half a year later, the trio amassed a total of RM8,000 and decided to use that money to become fish vendors.
They initially didn’t feel good about it as there were too many competitors in the area, but that did not stop them from achieving their dreams!
“At first, our business did not receive much attention, but thanks to our patience and strategy of offering the fish at a cheaper price, the business started blooming. We’d sell our fish RM1 to RM2 (per kg) cheaper than the market price.”

Besides that, they also learned to diversify their products by reinvesting their profit into selling vegetables and fruits, including durians! This has massively expanded their platform so much so that it looks like a ‘mini market’.
It is learned that the brothers currently earn between RM3,000 and RM4,000 per day. What’s more impressive was that during the month of Ramadhan, they managed to earn up to RM8,000 per day!
The eldest brother, Mohd Anuar added,
“We have to restock almost every day.”
Prior to the business, Mohd Annuar shared that both his younger brothers had no stable income, but things have significantly changed after that. Now, not only do they have a consistent income, they can even save some for their future!
The youngest brother, Mohd Sufian said he doesn’t mind smelling like fish every day and being judged for running a business by the roadside.
We hope their inspiring story would encourage more youngsters to follow in their footsteps and congratulations to the trio for their success!
