No. 10: KATJA – The Cursed Russian Doll
Katja was the name given by one of the Tsar Mistresses in 1730. It was said that the mistress was pregnant and hoped to give birth to a boy for the King. Unfortunately, she gave birth to a defected baby girl. This baby was then burned.
After the incident, the mother made a doll with the baby’s ashes, mixed with porcelain and ceramics. It was said that this doll is kept from generation to generation in Russia, and it is closely guarded, because the doll can bring a curse.
If was said that if you stare at this doll for more than 20 seconds, the cursed Katja doll will blink. If it blinks at you, it means something bad will happen to you. Previously, someone tried to sell this doll on eBay, however the thread was closed, because eBay reported that there were many weird incident happening due to this mystical Katja doll.
No. 9: OKIKU – The Mysteriously Haunted Japanese Doll
The legendary Okiku doll, named after the girl who used to play with it in the past. It is a 40cm tall kimono-clad figure with beady black eyes and hair that grows. It was purchased in 1918 by a 17-year0old boy to her 2-year-old sister, Okiku. But the following year, she died suddenly of a cold. In memory of Okiku, the family placed the doll in the household altar and prayed to it every day. Sometime later, they noticed that the doll’s hair had started to grow. This was seen as a sign that the girl’s restless spirit had taken refuge in the doll. The Okiku doll has resided at Mannenji temple since 1938, after the family moved away.
According to the temple, the doll initially had short cropped hair, but over time it has grown to about 25cm long, down to the doll’ s knee. Even though the hair id periodically trimmed, but it keeps growing back…
No. 8: CHRISTINA – The Peaceful Haunted Doll
Christina the peaceful haunted doll was bought on eBay over 3 years ago and she still has a few haunted tricks up sleeves. If you look closely at her eyes, you can see that something paranormal is going on. Christina loves having her pictures taken but when she has had enough, then you better watch out!!
The series of photos of her will start to change as you see the ghost inside her manifest itself. At times, she just sits peacefully in her chair, at other times she will be found out of her little chair and on to the floor. She also changes positions or she is slumped to one side of the chair as if asleep. If you brush the knots out of her hair, it gets tangled the very next day. It seems that Christina likes watching television.
No. 7: MERCY – The Haunted Evil Doll
Mercy is 18 inches tall with an un-measurable terror level, says real haunted doll owner, Sherrie Khun. The spirit of a 7 year old girl is said to haunt or possess this doll when she bought it from an eBay seller.
Sherrie is a paranormal investigator who has been investigating for about 20 years. Within a week, Mercy showed subtle signs of her presence in a few photos. Sherrie refuses to believe the result at first, thinking that it was perhaps lighting or angles. The night after, the radio in that room turned on to a random station, but she and her husband thought nothing of this. Two days later, Mercy was found off her shelf and stood on her feet.
Sherrie believes that Mercy holds something of an evil nature. She keeps Mercy isolated due to the negative feelings she gets when she’s around her.
No. 6: EMILIA – The Haunted Italian Doll
The doll is over 100 years old and came from one of the royal guards of King Umberto I, King of Italy. The King gave this doll to Ulvado Berlina, one of his most trusted friends and Captain of the Royal Guard. Emilia was a gift to Ulvado’s daughter, Marie.
The doll survived WW1 and WW2, only losing both her arms and scalp in the second war to a bomb on a train. And from that day on she was haunted by the soul of the woman who died trying to rescue herself and the doll for Marie during the explosion. Emilia is said to open and close her eyes, and her sound box is still heard at times in the darkness of the night crying for its mama, though her original voice box no longer works. Marie loved this doll so much she even named her daughter Emilia.
No. 5: PUPA – The Haunted Doll with Real Human Hair
Pupa was owned by one owner from the day she was given to the child in the 1920’s until she died in 2005. Pupa is about 14 inches tall. Her hair is reportedly made of real human hair. The owner cherished it throughout her life. Pupa is still in her original clothes, a blue sit made of felt. Pupa is said to move by herself.
Often she is said to push things around in the display case where the family who owns her keep her. Since the passing of the original owner in 2005, the family reports that the haunted doll has become very active and seems to want to be released from where she is kept. More than once, the family has reported hearing a sound like someone tapping on glass as they pass Pupa’s display case. When they turn to look, they have seen Pupa’s hand pressed against the glass or her legs crossed, when they were not before.
No. 4: HAROLD – The First Haunted Doll Ever Sold on eBay
Harold was the first doll every to be sold on eBay. The doll was called “Haunted Harold”. The doll has over 100,000 views. The winning bidder got the doll for $700, but the woman didn’t pay. The second bidder got the doll for $300, but she sold it on to another family because she couldn’t handle it. A friend of the seller now owns the doll. She has a couple of odd things going on after she took the doll. A friend of hers came over to see the doll after she heard about the strange things.
A month later, her friend developed a brain tumor and died. Before that, she was completely healthy. A week later, another friend took a look at the doll. A month later, he fell from a flight of stairs to his
death. Whenever she is around Harold, she always feels like she’s being watched. Her friends and family don’t want to go near him, so he is locked away in her basement. The doll continues to be sold to different people. No one has kept him.
No. 3: MANDY – The Cracked-face Doll
Mandy the cracked-face haunted doll lives at the Queshel Museum, British Columbia. Mandy was donated to the museum in 1991. At that time her clothing was dirty, her body was ripped and her head was full of cracks and was estimated to be over ninety years old. The woman who donated Mandy told the museum curator that she would wake up in the middle of the night hearing a baby crying from the basement.
When she investigated, she would find a window near the doll open where it had previously been closed and the curtains blowing in the breeze. Some say Mandy has unusual powers. Many speculate that the doll has acquired these powers over the years, but since little is known of the doll’s history, nothing can be said for certain. What is certain is the unusual effect she seems to have on everyone around her.
No. 2: ROBERT- The Evil Talking Doll
Robert is a doll that was once owned by Key West painter and author Robert Eugene Otto. The doll is said to be possessed by evil spirits and has a terrifying reputation. Supposedly, Eugene was given the doll in 1906 by a Bahamian servant who was skilled in black magic and voodoo and was displeased with the family. Eugene’s parents often heard him talking to the doll and supposed that the doll spoke back.
Although at first, they assumed that Eugene was simply answering himself in a changed voice, they claimed to have later realized that the doll was actually speaking. When Eugene died in 1974, the doll was left in the attic until the house was bought again.
The new family included a ten-year old girl, who became Robert’s new owner. It was not long before the girl began screaming out in the night, claiming that Robert moved about the room and even attempted to attack her on multiple occasions. More than thirty years later, she still tells interviewers that the doll was alive and wanted to kill her.
No.1: ANABELLE – The Haunted Doll
In 1970, a mother purchased an antique Raggedy Anne doll as a present for her daughter Donna on her birthday. Pleased with the doll, Donna placed it on her bed as a decoration. With time, she noticed something very strange and creepy about the doll. The doll apparently moved on its own and even changed its position and much worse, would be found in a completely different room from which it was placed. Donna later seeks advice of a priest who then contacted expert paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren.
After visiting Donna, they took the doll with them. Annabelle’s antics were so bad, she is now locked inside a protective glass case in an occult museum to keep her at bay. It is still reported that Annabelle somehow manages to turn up in the strangest of places.
