Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has taken over the duty of giving daily updates on standard operating procedure compliance and enforcement action to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Several areas in six states will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 31 to Aug 13, says senior minister for security Hishammuddin Hussein.
Eight localities in Sabah are affected. These are: Kampung Lembah Permai and Kampung Pugi Gunsapou, Ranau; Kampung Bayangan and Kampung Purakagis, Keningau; Kampung Gambaron 2 and Kampung Tembidong-Bidong, Telupid; Kampung Marintaman, Sipitang; and Kampung Airport Lama, Tawau.
In Kelantan, two localities will go under EMCO – Kampung Lubok Stol, Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, and Kampung Wek Batu 23, Labok, Machang.
Meanwhile, in Pahang, the areas affected are the Amber Court Apartment and the Grand Ion Delemon construction site in Genting Highlands as well as Felda Sungai Koyan 3, Mukim Ulu Jelai, Lipis.
The EMCO will also be implemented at Kampung Padang Kubu, Mukim Tebak, Kemaman (Terengganu) and at Taman Desa Bidara, Kuala Ketil, Baling (Kedah).
In Perak, four localities in the Perak Tengah district will be affected. They are Kampung Biak Hilir (Bandar subdistrict) and Kampung Biak Darat, Kampung Biak Baroh and a part of Kampung Pasir Salak (Pasir Salak subdistrict).
Hishammuddin also said the EMCO at five localities in Perak will end tomorrow. They involve the Latexx Manufacturing Sdn Bhd Factory and workers quarters ( Latexx Village & Ivor Hostel) in Taiping; and also the Tropicana Apartment, Bukit Merah, Kampung Tersusun Pondok Tanjung and Kampung Binjai (Kerian).
The EMCO at Taman Mewah, Kelemak, Alor Gajah (Melaka), Kampung Perpaduan Gumpa, Kudat (Sabah), the Tawau Prison and staff quarters at Taman Ehsan, Tawau (Sabah), Jalan Batu Nilam, Klang (Selangor), and Kampung Astana and Kampung Sungai Bedil in Kuching (Sarawak) will also end tomorrow.
Hishammuddin said the EMCO at the Sabah Forest Industry (SFI) housing in Sipitang (Sabah), Taman Jaya Diri, Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) and Kampung Seratau, Kuching (Sarawak) had been extended until Aug 13.
Meanwhile, the SOP compliance task force ordered 63 premises, comprising 55 businesses, five factories and three construction sites, to close yesterday after failing to comply with SOPs.
He also said 316 people were arrested yesterday over MCO-related offences, with 296 issued compound fines and 20 remanded.
