Pakistani Bride Accidentally Kills 17 People In An Attempt To Poison Husband After Forced Marriage

In this day and age, it is sad to say that there are women and children still being forced into marriage, and although many of us would say arranged marriage is ‘so yesterday’ many countries or villages are still following that tradition.

In human’s and religious rights, it is wrong to force someone into marriage! Everyone has their own rights to choose who they want to be with for the rest of their lives. Sure, arranged marriage can turn out great but the percentage is just too low!

An unnamed Pakistani woman took matters into her own hands when her parents refused to listen to her plea and married her off instead. She attempted to poison her husband to death, however, her actions inadvertently killed 17 other people.

She reportedly obtained the poisonous susbtance from her boyfriend and mixed some of it in milk intended for her husband, but for some reason, he did not drink it. Her mother-in-law then added the poisoned milk to a yogurt-based beverage she was making, which she later served to 27 of her relatives.

While all of them were rushed to the hospital, only 10 of them survived and are still being treated.

The police arrested the suspect in connection to the multiple deaths that shocked a remote village near the town of Ali Pur, in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.

The local district police chief Sohail Habib Tajak said the woman is now being questioned by local authorities to determine whether it was her or the man identified as her boyfriend who planned to poison her husband.

Tajak was quoted saying:

“This incident took place last week and our officers have made progress by arresting a woman and her lover in connection with this murder case, which was complaicated and challenging for us.”

The police are also seeking to arrest all those who are involced in the woman’s murder plot against her husband.

It is learned that the woman was unhappy about her marriage in September and wanted to return to her parent’s home.

“I repeatedly asked my parents not to marry me against my will as my religion, Islam, allows me to choose the man of my choice for marriage but my parents rejected all of my pleas and they married me to a relative.”

She revealed that she had already warned her parents that she would do anything just to get out of her marriage, but they refused to let her get a divorce. She added that her relationship with her boyfriend continued even after her marriage and she only targeted her husband. She also expressed regret over the deaths of her husband’s relatives.

This is why parents should NEVER force their child into marriage, give them advice and guide them, not force them. If you feel that this person is not the right one then tell your child, give your two cents but NEVER EVER force them. They are human beings just like you, and you should treat them with respect just as how they respect you! We do not condone forced marriage!

To the kids/children, listen to your parents when they give you advices, because they’ve been through life before you, but do not do something as bizarre as this. DO NOT kill people or attempt to!

What’s your take on this?
