Instead of running around catching virtual pets in Pokemon Go like everyone else, animal adoption portal PetFinder is suggesting that we adopt “real-life” Pokemon as well!
The initiative is a collaboration between Malaysian advertising agency NagaDDB and PetFinder.my – one of the biggest pet adoption portal locally.
Called the Real Pokémon Catch, four shopping malls are tempting Pokemon Go players with unique finds, based on adoptable pets right here in Malaysia!
“We are very thankful to the compassionate management of these four malls for their enthusiasm for this campaign, inspiring so many visitors to help homeless animals. We hope that this fun-filled initiative will set a precedent for more creative animal welfare collaborations in the future.”
According PetFinder.my founder Andy Koh, the initiative kicked-off at Publika, Berjaya Times Square, Sunway Pyramid and 1 Utama on Aug 13 and will continue until Aug 27.
11,000 homeless animals will be up for adoption, PetFinder hopes to use Pokemon Go’s popularity to highlight the plight of needy animals. Pokemon posters are placed at strategic locations and PokeStops to encourage pet adoption.
