NEW ZEALAND : A country which is known for carrying out legal taxidermy on animals that had died naturally or been euthanised, recently turned the internet upside down with possibly one of the most bizarre and morbid fashion item.
The body of a cat including it’s head kept intact went up for sale on a local auction site, TradeMe for a whopping $1,450 which is about RM 5,982.63.
It even came with a short description “one-off, glamour puss” along with its professional taxidermist Clare Hobbs. Thankfully, it did state that no animals were killed for Ms Hobb’s work,(at least we hope that’s true) but still this is just plain wrong on so many levels.
Hans Kriek, the director of Save Animals From Exploitation said that the bag was in ‘poor taste’ and ‘disrespectful’.
“If you were to do these with people it would be absolutely not acceptable…is turning a cat into a handbag any worse than turning an elephant’s foot into an umbrella stand?”
As much of a cat lover that we are, this is just insane and disgusting! What do you think of this? Would you buy it?
