A man was arrested by the police this morning after allegedly killing his girlfriend following an argument sparked by jealousy.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy said police received a distress call at 6.28am from the public, claiming that someone was about to commit suicide. Police arrived at their home at Taman Jinjang and found the woman unconscious. The couple had been living together for five years and had a four-year-old daughter.
“The woman was lying on the living room floor. Her face and arms also bore bruises,” said Munusamy via NST.
The man, who works as a technician, admitted that he had killed his girlfriend sometime in the last 12 hours after a quarrel, who allegedly beat up due to jealousy. He believed that his girlfriend was having an affair with another man. The couple had been fighting since Thursday as the woman refused to return home and take care of their daughter.
Munusamy said that prior to the incident, the man had taken his daughter to his girlfriends father’s house, saying that his girlfriend was already dead.
“The victim was taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem. The man has been remanded for six day until Thursday (July 21),” he said.
