One usually expect the worst when you’ve lost your wallet containing a lot of money, so imagine this Malaysian’s surprise when his wallet, which he lost in Kyoto, was returned to him in one piece with all the RM6,200 still in it!
Mr Lim Boon Sun was on holiday with 4 of his family members in Kyoto, Japan on 14 December when he found that his wallet, together with all the cash in it, was lost at about 4 pm. As there’s quite a lot of money inside, he quickly lodged a police report hoping that his wallet can be recovered.
At the police station, the on-duty police officer immediately checked their system to see if anybody had come in with a wallet. Fortunately, someone had found his wallet and had earlier handed it over to a nearby police station.
The policemen then gave Mr Lim the information on how to get to the said police station, and they took a train to get there. After filling up some documents, he finally recovered his wallet and all the cash in it by 8.30 pm.
Mr Lim said the cash were meant to pay for his family’s expenses while in Japan, so it was really fortunate that he manages to recover his wallet! Else how will they survive?
After Mr Lim’s confession has gone viral on social media, netizens were impressed by the honesty of the Japanese people and praised the efficiency of the Japanese police in helping Mr Lim finding his wallet.
