The grounds of South Korea rumbled as a powerful 5.4 magnitude earthquake shocked the southern region of South Korea, Seoul. The massive earthquake occurred in the evening of the September 12th 2016, Monday.
The 5.4 magnitude earthquake wasn’t the only one that struck Seoul as a 4.9 magnitude earthquake hit South Korea moments before the 5.4 as stated by the US Geological Survey (USGS).
At about 8:30pm ( Timezone: 1130 GMT) South Korea timing did the earthquake hit. The grounds of Gyeongju first witnessed the impact as it was located near the epicenter.
As of now, there are no casualties nor injuries reported as the ministry of public safety stated. However, it did provide a shock to many residents who live in high-rise apartments in the city of Busan. Countless of residents can be seen rushing out as the powerful tremor was felt.
Though South Korea’s capital, Seoul was far off the epicenter, the sheer magnitude of it sure did make its presence known.
