Many people have much to say about our new Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir, a majority of what has been told are from past experiences from people who have actually met with Tun M in person.
Needless to say, Tun M is a very strict person, even to himself. A former flight attendant shared with TV Bulan her experience when serving Tun M on a private flight to Morocco, Libya, and Bahrain back when he was our 4th Prime Minister.

The Kedah-born ex-flight attendant wrote in her post,
“I used to be a flight attendant, I have met with Tun M many times back then when he and his wife was on my flight, B777 to Morocco, Libya, and Bahrain. When Tun M uses the washroom on the plane, it will remain clean before and after he uses it.
“When he reads the newspaper, he would be taking down notes (of what I do not know)… But he would always fold the newspaper back neatly. He leads by example. He did not allow to install the wine rack on the plane, he also did not allow smoking, although he very well could on a chartered flight if he allows his other ministers to smoke.
“I remember when Tun M walked into the economy class, I followed him from behind, all his entourage who was checking out and flirting with the flight attendance immediately behaved themselves, afraid of being scolded by Tun M.”
Most Malaysians would feel angry and sad when the ‘new kids on the block’ mock and speak falsely about Tun M that everyone loves and respects.
“Just imagine, your father who is over 90 is still fighting for the country, I’m sure you all will feel sad, in fact, I am crying as I write this.
“I still remember the time I received the letter in my work folder saying that I was chosen to serve Tun Mahathir and Tun Siti Hasmah on the flight to Morocco, Bahrain, and Libya. The selection of cabin crew members and technical crew members were chosen based on our performance.
“Compliment letters that we got from passengers, our discipline at work, no bad records, like medical leave and so on. We were chosen based on our grooming as well. After we handed our passports over to Bukit Aman, the people came to our houses for an interview, as it is all procedure to be tasked with flying with the PM.
“After confirming that our records were clear and there weren’t any criminal records, we were called in for a briefing by the flight administrations and our boss.”

On the big day, she mentioned that all tech crews can be seen slightly pressured but happy, the same goes for the cabin crew. At that time, the plane, B777 was still new, fresh out the factory from Seattle.
“We, the cabin crew stood behind the tech crew and welcomed PM, his wife, and the ministers that followed behind them. I couldn’t sleep the night before, I practiced how to approach PM and all the other ministers, I practiced how to smile and walk in front of the mirror.
“I tried to sleep early as I was afraid I might oversleep past my alarm, I even called my neighbor to call me up… I woke up 2 hours earlier, it felt so long for morning to come… My brain is not at peace, but I just laid there with my eyes closed.
“When Tun M was right in front of me, I felt my face and eyes turn red while my body was burning up, I tried to hold it in, but Tun was noticed that I was getting nervous with me speaking in my Kedah dialect, he smiled and shook my hand, even his wife noticed that tears rolled down my cheeks as that moment was something really big to me.”
