All these unnecessary provocations just because the government decided that it’s ok to grant permanent residency to controversial Salafist preacher Dr Zakir Naik.
You know, if several countries in the world (Bangladesh, Canada and the United Kingdom) have already banned this guy from stepping foot into their country, just basically means that this guy is bad news! It’s that simple!
And yet despite the obvious signs of him being a national threat by saying things like “If Osama bin Laden is terrorising the US, I am with him”, Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin still questioned back, “What proof is there that he threatened (national security)?”
I know major facepalm moment, right? Well, now, things have escalated in the direction which is practically ‘tearing’ Malaysians apart.
According to The Malay Mail Online, a newly formed Malay-Muslim movement had challenged the citizenship of 1.75 million Malaysians granted between the year 1957-1970, because they alleged that the granting of the said status had violated the stipulated terms under the Federal Constitution.
It seems that based on some research done, there were legal violations found with granting citizenship to non-Malays back in that 27 years time frame. And after year 60 years, now they want to dig up all this back and review the ‘affected’ non-Malays.
But what is bugging the hell out of me is what the Perkasa chief, Datuk Dr Ibrahim Ali said, “If you disturb us, we disturb you la!” <<< dude…who disturbed you la??!!
To me this just sounds like a personal agenda more than anything else, what do you guys think about this???
