Malaysia: Malaysian responds to the story on how two dogs protected a group of Muslim hikers

MALAYSIAN PROVIDES HIS OPINIONS AND POINT OF VIEW ON THE VIRAL STORY ON HOW TWO DOGS PROTECTED A GROUP OF MUSLIM HIKERS DURING THEIR TRIP FROM MONKEYs AND WILD DOGS

First of all, they dogs didn’t even know or cared whether the group are Muslim or Christians or Buddhist or Hindus. They dogs followed their instinct to help them. Probably if the dogs knew that they are Muslims and dogs are forbidden for Muslims, they dogs wouldn’t have bothered to help. Secondly, they dogs saved their lives, for heavens sake. I am not saying that you must kiss and make love to the dog for saving your life. But you don’t have to emphasize that you didn’t touch the dogs and had no contact with it just because you are a Muslim. Even if you had contact or touched it, you were in an emergency situation and i’m sure GOD is not going to send you to hell for it.  Mohd Firdaus

Recently, a story had gone viral about how two dogs had aided voluntarily towards a group of Muslim hikers on their journey to the top of Gunung Nuang. The two dogs had acted as guides and guardians towards the group of hikers, which as the original publisher of the post had said, if it weren’t for them, they would have gotten killed by wild animals.

I read with amusement recently about how 2 dogs protected and saved a group of Muslims mountain trekkers. It seems that the dogs appeared suddenly and started following them. And when a pack of wild dog tried to attack the group, this 2 dogs barked and stood protecting the group. When monkeys also tried to attack them, this 2 dogs protected them. The guy who wrote about this did say that if not for these 2 dogs, probably they all would have been killed. He even took a selfie with the dogs.

Then he quickly added that they did not have any physical contacts with dogs and even when they gave food to the dogs, they made sure they did not touch the dog. He stressed that since he was a MUSLIM, it is forbidden for him to touch the dogs.

If you want to say something good about the dogs, do it without fear. You don’t have to worry about the moral police questioning whether you touched the dogs or whether you cleansed yourself.

If i were them, i would have hugged the dogs and take selfies. Later can samak or whatever. They are the ones who saved my life and not some ustaz who sits and preach what can and what cannot be done. Only Allah knows the good deeds and intention of each individual.

May Allah bless the dogs.

His post has since garnered a good amount of shares and many comments praising him for a good write up. Some saying that Muslims shouldn’t be afraid to show some sympathy and that touching a dog isn’t going to make you any less holy than you are.

Not forgetting that these dogs are also God’s creation and that they may have been sent by God himself to protect his people, the Muslim group of Hikers. Whatever it is, I’m also glad that the Hikers acknowledged the dogs for their protection and that they thanked God for that.

However to stay objective it is just his opinions and point of view, everyone has the right to give their statements about anything unless harmful. In my personal opinion, I totally agree with his statement  and I even got a good laugh when he stated, “I am not saying that you must kiss and make love to the dog for saving your life.”

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with his statements?
