A robber was shot in the buttocks after trying to rob a convenience store
Due to the substandard state of security and emergency response time here in Malaysia, many robbers get away scat free with the ‘loot’. However, one robber didn’t quite have mother luck on his side and was given a swift dose of karma when he got shot in the buttock by a security guard.
The parang-wielding robber was shot on his right buttock by a security guard while trying to rob a convenience store here in Setapak on Thursday.
The robber and an accomplice tried to flee with mobile phone prepaid cards worth thousands of Ringgit after holding up the convenience store at about 11.20am.
However, a security guard who worked for a moneychanger outlet next door, saw the commotion and opened fire on the robbers.
One of the robbers was shot in the buttocks while the other robber managed to flee from the scene of the crime.
Their four other accomplices who were waiting outside on their getaway motorcycles, hastily made their escape after seeing the commotion.
The owner of the moneychanger outlet, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Star that the injured robber was handed over to the police before being rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are in the midst of scouring the scene of the crime for evidence.
It goes without saying that the robber now has a ‘sore reminder’ to keep him away from crime in the future.
