Ladies, be careful if you are out alone!
Last Thursday, September 27, a man pretended to be an Indonesian police officer and harassed a girl nearby IKON Mall in Cheras by asking her numerous questions, reasoning that it was for collecting ‘Indonesian data’.
According to the Facebook post, the man asked her to follow him to the McDonald’s situated opposite IKON Mall.

When she refused his offer, he proceeded to record a video of her with his mobile phone, which caused her to panic and run to the Giant supermarket in the mall. The man followed her and told her to stop or he would have to call his boss.
She immediately called her girl friend, the person who posted the incident on Facebook as she feared for her safety. Since she wanted to escape the situation as soon as possible, she obeyed her friend’s instructions. Her friend told her to head towards a crowded area and ask for help from a stranger by getting them to pretend to be her friend so that the man would leave her alone.
After getting hold of a security guard, he helped her by telling the man to leave her alone and the man did.
Fortunately, the girl was unharmed but she is traumatized as she fears he might be able to find her based on the video he recorded.
At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 280 shares.
Be sure to be extra alert when you’re out alone and stay safe, girls!
