Theft, no matter big or small, is still a crime. A civil servant residing in Terengganu could be jailed up to 10 years for stealing 30 grade-A eggs from a supermarket.
The accused, Eddy Ezry Nordin pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a dwelling at the Kuala Terengganu Magistrate last Thursday, October 4, 2018.

According to Sinar Harian, the 32-year-old accused was caught by a security guard who noticed his suspicious behaviour in a supermarket on September 26.
Besides the 30 eggs, The Star reported that the accused also stole other items from the supermarket that amounted to a total of RM128.39.
Eddy could face up to 10 years of jail time if convicted.

Bail was allowed for the accused but the case is set for mention on October 13. Judge Noradila A. Latif allowed Eddy to be released on RM4,000 with one surety.
