With Malaysia’s 14th General Election(GE14) almost around the corner, political parties are actively kicking off their campaigns, especially in putting up their many political flags all over, everywhere.
While flags from political parties are taking over neighborhood one after another, one man in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) took matters into his own hands and act on his frustration over the flags.
The man was recorded in a 41-second video angrily pulling out Barisan National (BN) flags and chucking them onto the ground. He can also be seen yelling at the person filming him before moving on to removing the rest of the flags.
It is learned that the video was filmed along Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, last Saturday, April 7.
According to The Star, the police received three reports from the incident. City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said,
“Reports were lodged by the person who took the video, the person who put up the flags, and a representative from UMNO Youth.”
He added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and damage. The video has garnered over 1,500 shares and more than 846,000 views at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, another video of grown men fighting over opposing political party flags being put up in the same area have been circulating social media, and it has gained more than 1,900 views on Facebook in just three hours.
