He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction. No plea was recorded from the suspect.
It is understood that Magistrate Siti Khairiah Abd Razak fixed March 15 for re-mention.
The Star reported that the police detained the suspect and his wife, who is the victim’s stepmother on February 1 after a post-mortem conducted on Nur Aina Nabihah showed serious injuries caused by a blunt object.
Sadly, the victim exhibited various injuries including a punctured intestine, damaged liver, and broken ribs.
Her father, who is a sergeant in the armed forces found her unconscious at their Taman Vista Jaya home in Lukut around 11.30 pm on January 31. Mohammad Abdullah performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the victim but she did not regain consciousness.
He then rushed her to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban where she was pronounced dead an hour later.
Police had questioned the accused in June last year after the victim’s biological mother lodged a report after finding swellings on her daughter’s body.
The victim’s 34-year-old stepmother has since been released on bail.
It is noted that the police have referred the case to the deputy public prosecutor but no further action was taken.
This man shouldn’t be walking free if he is evil enough to beat up and end a little child’s life. Usually, when a kid behaves inappropriately or did something wrong, a light spanking would do, not full fledge abuse! This man should suffer the consequences of taking a life!
