KUALA LUMPUR: A man burnt to death when his car was engulfed in flame in Taman Megah, Cheras, this afternoon.
The incident took place at 5:30pm at Jalan Megah 21.
The cause of the blaze is still unknown as of this time.
Eyewitness account says that the victim was trapped in the car. Attempts to rescue the man from the burning car by the public failed as the fire spread rapidly.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Othman Nanyan said the identity of the victim has yet to be identified.
“Investigations showed that the car belonged to a 52-year-old man whose listed address is in Taman Murni Batu 9, Cheras,” he said.
Police officers classified the case as sudden death.
The body was brought to the Kajang Hospital for a post-mortem check-up.
