Lots of unexpected things can happen when you’re having a vacation in a foreign country, but what you need to make sure is that your belongings are safe and that you’re not robbed of your valuables!
Unfortunately for this Kuwaiti man who was having a vacation in Thailand, he got his three luxury watches stolen after a one-night stand with a Moroccan woman.
It is learned that the pair met at a bar in Walking Street, Pattaya, before deciding to return to the man’s condo unit on Tuesday (March 27) evening.
According to 22-year-old Talal Sabah Alsabah, after being intimate with the woman, Rabia Zrideg, 32, he fell asleep and when he woke up, Rabia had already left. That was when he discovered that his watches worth a total of 500,000 Thailand Baht (RM62,000) had disappeared.
After notifying the authorities on Wednesday, the woman was subsequently found by officers using surveillance cameras.
She reportedly had not gone far and was strolling around Pattaya Mueang 8 School when police caught up with her. Upon the arrest, officers found the missing watches in her possession – one Rolex and two Audemars Piguet.
At a press conference, Alsabah positively identified the thief who confessed to stealing them. Should he pursue a case, Rabia could face a maximum punishment of three-year jail term or a fine of up to 6,000 baht (RM742) for theft.
While we are unsure whether he plans to continue pressing charges on her, we hope others would learn from this example, never to rob people and to be careful of your valuables.
