During the monsoon season, drivers often face one major obstacle – traffic congestion. Hence the search for alternative routes to lighten the burden!
Now that the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel Sdn Bhd (SMART) has announced there are some road closures in the city, it could potentially add on to the traffic.
Some of the major roads in Kuala Lumpur will be closed from October 6 to January 2018 due to upgrading works on Jalan Tun Razak.
SMART told Bernama,
“The closure is for upgrading works to improve traffic flow in the city at Jalan Tun Razak from Jalan Langgak Golf to Kampung Pandan Roundabout and Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).”
Here are the roads that are closed:
- Jalan Tun Razak
- Exit to Kampung Pandan Roundabout
- Jalan Davis
Motorists in the city are advised to take alternate routes!
Drivers coming from Seremban-Cheras-Sungai Besi to KL city centre such as Jalan Tun Razak-KLCC and Bukit Bintang, have been advised to use the Smart Highway instead.
However, if you are heading out of the city centre, then you can also use the SMART Highway to avoid traffic at Jalan Davis and Bukit Bintang.
Looks like KL drivers might have to take these alternative routes until January 2018. Let’s hope that there is no delay in the roadworks.
