BREAKING NEWS: Sarawak’s Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who led Barisan National (BN) to victory in the last Sarawak election, had passed away on Wednesday at 72.
He was just days away from his 73rd birthday. It was reported by FMT that he died at the Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre in Samarahan, around 1.20pm.

Adenan was appointed as Sarawak’s fifth chief minister on March 1, 2014, and was instrumental in helping BN retaining the state with higher majority not see in decades.
State local government minister Dr Sim Kui Hian confirmed Adenan’s death to Sin Chew Daily and said he would be seeking more details on Adenan’s passing from the Chief Minister’s Office.
