- FHM was launched in 1985 under the title For Him Magazine
- Plan to close both the print and digital versions of the FHM magazines by 2016
- Goodbye to FHM Malaysia
FHM magazine Malaysia is most famous for it’s top 100 lists of sexiest men and women. Being on these lists are literally THE dream for most teenage girls and guys. Being featured in FHM is not only a big honor, but also a title that serves as a benchmark to propel keen teenagers into the modeling or fashion industry.
A few hours ago, Astro Digital Publications, the official publicist for FHM Magazine Malaysia, has announced on Facebook that the renowned fashion magazine will cease after its January 2016 issue.
The announcement is made in conjunction with the suspension of FHM UK and an evaluation of the current situation led to the decision made.
On 17 November 2015 , FHM and Zoo magazines are to suspend publication, their publisher has announced.
Bauer Media today set in motion the process to call time on the two titles, effectively ending the presence of so-called ‘lads’ mags’ on newsagent shelves.
“Unfortunately it’s true and it has been announced today the intention to suspend publication of FHM,” read a statement posted on the FHM website.
“It’s been an absolute joy producing the magazine over the years. Thank you for all your support, we will keep you updated with developments over the coming weeks. – Telegraph
The announcement that was posted on FHM Malaysia Facebook page was short and did not elaborate further on their decision though we suspect it may be for the same reason FHM UK has suspended their publications as well- youngsters are reading less and spending more time online.
Can we expect a comeback from FHM Malaysia? In the form of an online portal perhaps? Only time will tell!
