The case, which was transferred from the Sessions Court, came up for mention for the first time today before High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan. Rosmah, 67, maintained her plea of not guilty to all 17 charges. Her husband, former prime minister Najib Razak, also faces charges related to money laundering, criminal breach of trust, corruption and abuse of power over government and 1MDB-related funds. Earlier, former Federal Court judge Gopal Sri Ram, who was appointed senior deputy public prosecutor and is leading the prosecution team in the case, requested a new mention date for further case management. He said on the date to be given by the court, the prosecution would make an oral application for the case to be tried together with another case in which Rosmah faces two counts of receiving RM1.5 million in bribes in the implementation of a project to supply and instal solar energy panels at 369 rural schools in Sarawak two years ago. He also informed the court that the prosecution would submit all documents on the case to the defence next month. The court set Jan 25 next year for mention. Najib was also present in court, along with his son, Mohd Ashman.
