A Taiwanese teenager who tried to impress his 18-year-old girlfriend by renting a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 is now stuck with a RM917, 000 debt after crashing the luxury supercar.
The accident is said to have taken place on the Zhongshan bridge in Sanchong, New Taipei City.
According to authorities, the teen who is only known as Ding, rented the Italian supercar some time last week in an attempt to impress his girlfriend.
However, his girlfriend, who is allegedly a model, has been posting dozens of photos with the supercar and the young man on social media. It is believed that she was under the impression that the car belonged to him. Unfortunately, her joy was short-lived when the car crashed later that night and she found out that the car was in-fact, a rental.
The entire front and back end of the car was destroyed and authorities say that it is highly likely that the vehicle is totaled. The couple emerged unharmed from the accident.
After the crash, Ding shamelessly pushed the blame to his girlfriend and told the police that it was she who was driving the vehicle at the time and not him. After further investigations, his lies were once again exposed when it was revealed that Ding was in-fact driving and that the car was a rental.
The 560 horsepower supercar was rented for NTD 50, 000/day (RM6, 550). Further investigations also revealed that Ding was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Ding’s girlfriend was beyond unhappy with Ding’s recklessness and for lying to her. She was also ashamed that Ding was not the person he claimed to be. It was revealed that he told her a lot of lies to impress the model.
According to Apple Daily, Ding told his girlfriend and the authorities that he was a wealthy business owner who ran an international trade company in China. However, his friends busted his lies when they told media that Ding was only working in a local milk teashop in Taiwan. His father also told the media that his son had left home for years and did not know what his son was up to.
Apparently, Ding’s girlfriend was so upset at being deceived by him that she has officially deleted all of her photos with him and told authorities that Ding was not her boyfriend.
I mean, who wouldn’t be upset?
