The boy’s father, Siaw Xian Wen, in a press conference organised by Lanang MP Alice Lau, said RM85,000 was needed for two cochlear implants for him to hear normally, and RM20,000 for surgery for his skin problem. All this will be done at the Sarawak General Hospital. “We have managed to raise RM10,000 which is not enough. “We appeal for public donations to treat him,” said Siaw, 27, who works as an interior designer. He said Vincent was born normal but when he was six months’ old, he was diagnosed with the congenital syndrome. “His skin started to become dry and had hearing difficulty. “Doctors recommended cochlear implants to restore his hearing,” he said.
