It is well known that wedding games or gate-crashing ceremony have been a part of the Chinese tradition for the longest time. The groom along with his groomsmen would have to go through a series of obstacles set by the bridesmaids.
However, the games progressively getting more dangerous over the years by entailing sexually suggestive and ridiculous behaviors that tend to ruin the auspicious day.
China Press recently reported that another wedding has gone viral on social media after several bridesmaids’ faces were injured by pieces of glass. The groom’s convoy alleged arrived at the bride’s house and found that the door was purposely locked.
The bride and bridesmaids were staying put inside the house while waiting for the guys to figure it out. Boys being boys, one of the groomsmen thought it was a great idea to use a red-colored sledgehammer to smash the door open. The crowd was cheering him on while he violently smashed the door.
Hence, several glass shards were flying everywhere in the house and some even accidentally cut the bridesmaids’ faces and parts of their body. The bridesmaids left the scene in tears to seek medical attention, thankfully, none of them suffered any serious injuries.
This incident reportedly took place in Shenzhen, China. It is learned that smashing the door is a unique wedding tradition in Changsha, the place where the groom hails from.
However, outrage still sparked among netizens condemning the groomsman for being rude and uncivilized. One said,
“That looks more like a house break-in than a wedding to me.”
Wedding ceremonies are meant to be magical and it should be about friends and family getting together to celebrate the union of two individuals! Having such dangerous games will only cause chaos and harm to people. It’s okay to carry on tradition, but do it the safe way.
Not only did the foolhardy groomsman injured the bridesmaids, he ruined the wedding and the door, now the couple has to reschedule their wedding, which is going to cost them a bomb and on top of that replace the door! Great job!
