Many of you have heard of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) but do you know what it is exactly? No, having HIV doesn’t mean having AIDS immediately.
HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, which is our body’s natural defence against illness. The virus destroys a type of white blood cell in the immune system called a T-helper cell and makes copies of itself inside these cells.

As HIV destroys more T-helper cells and makes copies of itself, it gradually breaks down a person’s immune system. This means someone living with HIV, who is not receiving treatment, will find it harder and harder to fight off infections and diseases.
If left untreated, it may take up to 10 or 15 years for the immune system to be so severely damaged it can no longer defend itself at all. However, the speed of HIV progresses will vary depending on age, health, and background.
HIV is found in semen, blood, vaginal and anal fluids, and breast milk. It cannot be transmitted through sweat, saliva, or urine.
Therefore, using male condoms or female condoms during sex is the best way to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
Although there is no cure for HIV, there is an effective antiretroviral treatment that can stop the progression of the condition available so people with HIV can live a long, normal, healthy life.
As for AIDS, a person is said to have AIDS when their immune system is too weak to fight off infection and they develop certain defining symptoms and illnesses. This is the last stage of HIV when the infection is very advanced and if left untreated will lead to death.

Okay, back to this poor woman.
A video that went viral on Weibo shows a woman sulking at the corner after a one night stand with a stranger.
Apparently, the man shamelessly revealed to her that he is HIV positive only after they have sexual intercourse!
It’s undeniable that the girl is stupid and did not think of the possibility of contracting such virus from strangers. She should know better! However, the blame should be on the man, for maliciously spreading HIV.
When she asked to confirm if he really had HIV, he proudly said,
“Why would I lie to you? I really have AIDS.”
Shockingly, this is not the first time someone with HIV maliciously spreading the virus to strangers. People diagnosed with HIV should always take precaution in whatever sexual activity they do and not infect others with the virus.
Now this woman has to get herself checked for the virus and receive immediate treatment, because if she gets pregnant and living with HIV, the virus in her blood could potentially pass into the baby’s body, or after giving birth through breastfeeding. But taking HIV treatment virtually eliminates this risk!
That is why you must always use protection when having sex! Not only does it prevent pregnancy, it prevents sexually transmitted diseases! Be safe guys!
